Why does my new Keurig coffeemaker make the water taste like chlorine?
I just got this coffeemaker and the water has a chlorine taste. I use well water, run through a softener and it doesn't have any chlorine in the water. I make tea, coffee with the water all the time and I have never had that taste before. What should I do?
The machine may have some chemicals in it that are left over from the manufacturing process. Clean it will a standard dish washing soap, not a scented kind, just a regular dish soap. Use very hot water. Rinse well. Then wash it with with a mixture of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. Run the coffee maker as usual with a filter but without the coffee with this mixture. Rinse very well.
